Remote Verification API Technology

Remote Verification API Technology

VerifyOne™ is an advanced verification technology innovation by ComCloud, utilizing remote QR code scanning and multi-level encryption and verification to eliminate large scale counterfeit fraud during dispatch, processing and receipt of pre-paid boxes, bags, labels and self-print tickets.

Scroll further down to also learn how the VerifyOne technology helps verify the authenticity of diplomas and certificates, preventing forged diplomas, fake degree claims, and thereby help protect the brand integrity of education providers.

Innovative remote verification technology

Fraud and counterfeit prevention

Customer satisfaction and brand protection

Eliminate counterfeit losses
Implement the VerifyOne verification technology for your batch products to prevent large scale counterfeit operations from undermining your earnings.

Pre-paid packages, envelopes, labels, or tickets are printed with a QR code containing an encrypted string, signed using asymmetrical cryptography and containing sensitive data central to the processing of multi-tiered verification evaluations. On remote scanning your systems connect to an API endpoint with a verification request and the result is returned directly to the scanning unit.

Typical implementations include dispatch, processing and receipt of pre-paid and protected products.

Vertical verification of boxes, bags, labels, tickets, you name it
From manufacturers and printers through to front-line processing, we are working directly with organisations through the vertical structure to ensure that products can accurately be produced with the embedded codes for distribution to front-line organisations where the verification request is created and where the API integration is implemented.

This includes defining the use case scenarios and setting the appropriate verification settings including time-dependent variables. For manufacturers and printers we provide the encrypted codes or help setting them up with API integration for creation of the codes.

Time dependent verification

The VerifyOne technology performs time-dependent verifications based on pre-defined restrictions and rules. These rules can be combined to create scenarios that meet diverse sets of requirements.

Limited duration validity
Verifications of a given item can be restricted to within e.g. 5 minutes of the first positive verification of that item. This would allow end-users to scan the item multiple times, returning positive verification within a pre-defined timespan after which the item would no longer return positive verification. This helps prevent single-item counterfeit.

Earliest and last validity
Individual items can have a set not-before date-time. Verifications before this time will return a negative result. Similarly, individual items can have a set not-after date-time after which verifications time will return a negative result.

Verification limit
Each individual item can have a set number of allowed verifications, the default being just 1. Within this limit the verification requests will return a positive result (if all other tests pass). Once this limit has been reached, all verification requests will return a negative result. In some scenarios a higher limit would be appropriate and can be configured accordingly.

Batch and item status
Individual items and entire batches of items can be set to (and later changed to) either active or inactive. This is a very useful feature which allows bulk deactivation or activation of entire batches (or indeed single items) for managing production faults, recalls, production or shipping delays etc.

Technology
The technology works through scanning a simple QR code printed on individual products, tickets, labels etc. at the point of dispatch or receipt processing. The data for the QR is created for entire batches of products but are individual per product.

When scanned the processing server requests verification of the product by sending the QR code data to the VerifyOne API. The API processes the verification claim and returns a verification result.

Creation of the data for the QR codes and the processing of the verification claims involves the implementation of multiple layers of encryption/decryption, rules-based verification and a combination of several tools, including volume-based verification and time dependency.

The technologies involved includes asymmetric cryptography, secret check codes, random numbers etc. which ensure each unique product has an assigned unique set of verification codes.

VerifyOne Diploma Protection
Ensuring Authenticity of Diplomas and Certificates

Our proprietary and innovative VerifyOne technology has also been developed to protect universities and other education providers from forged diplomas, fake degree claims and impersonations.

Universities, colleges, schools
Education providers can now utilise VerifyOne Diploma Protection technology to provide authenticity verification of their diplomas and certificates through simple mobile phone scanning of a QR code, either printed on the certificate or issued to the graduate as a digital format QR code.

Certainty for employers
HR departments and anyone else who wants to verify the authenticity of an education certificate or diploma can simply scan the QR code to receive instant verification of authenticity and details of the graduate and the degree claimed.

Brand integrity for education providers
This helps prevent impersonation, fake degree claims and forged diplomas and thereby helps protect the brand integrity of the education provider.

Integrated verification
Scanning the QR will prompt an HR representative to follow the link to a secure website where the diploma will be verified and identification details such as name of university, name of graduate, name and year of degree etc. will be displayed for easy matching against the details claimed by the graduate. Faking this will not be possible.

Any other document
Of course, this can be used for any other type of document in any other setting too.

Eliminate large scale losses from counterfeit fraud now
Implementing the VerifyOne technology into your structure can be somewhat involved and requires you or your printer or product provider to include the VerifyOne QR codes. Furthermore, making the verification claims from scanning requires implementing API integration into your back-office systems.
